There are many different home remedies that are known to cure bad breath. However, there is one main remedy that should always be considered first when trying to cure your bad breath problem; oral hygiene.

Getting rid of bacteria in the gum lines, on the teeth and on the tongue is part of daily oral hygiene. This can be accomplished by brushing your teeth everyday at least two to three times a day. In addition to brushing the teeth, you must scrape your tongue as well. The tongue is the place where a lot of the odor originates because bacteria can live on the texture of the tongue. Cleaning the tongue is sometimes skipped in most people’s oral hygiene routine. In order to clean your tongue reach as far to the back as you can. You can use a special brush or scraper designed for tongue cleaning. These are available at most pharmacies. Some people just use their toothbrush. Scrape or brush your tongue from the back to the front. Add some light pressure but overdoing it can cause irritation,

In addition to brushing flossing plays a key role in preventing bad breath. Flossing allows you to be able to remove small particles of food that can get stuck between your teeth and around your gums in places that a toothbrush can not get to. When food particles are not removed from the mouth they start to collect bacteria which can cause bad breath. It is good to floss before brushing. Flossing first helps to loosen food particles that brushing can then get rid of.

Another step in oral hygiene that should be done on a daily basis is the use of mouthwash. Antibacterial mouth rinses and those that contain chemicals that neutralize odors are extremely affective at controlling bad breath odors. Mouthwash decreases the amount of bacteria in the mouth that is responsible for bad breath from the back of the tongue as well as creases in the tongue.

Plus, seeing a dentist also contributes to the overall health of your mouth. The American Dental Association recommends tat you see your dentist every six months. By keeping up with your dentist appointments, your dentist gets the chance to check your teeth for tooth decay. The dentist or hygienist will also evaluate the heath of your gums and they will have the opportunity to check for any indications or oral cancer, diabetes or vitamin deficiencies. Plus, you will receive a good cleaning. Plaque and tartar can build up in a very short time if good oral hygiene is not practiced between dentist visits so having a good cleaning from the dentist ensures the removal of these harmful things. Plus, what some people might not know is that your dentist is important to your overall health as well. Dentists have also gotten into the habit of giving your head and neck a checkup as well. Your dentist will check your face, your neck, your lymph nodes and they will check the movement of your lower jaw joints.

So, maybe you have heard of every home remedy in the book to cure bad breath. But, the thing that is easiest and will give you the best results is to simply keep up with a proper oral hygiene routine.

Sometimes bad breath is not just bad breath. Halitosis is another word for bad breath and it used more often when bad breath is chronic. Anybody can eat some garlic or onions and suffer from bad breath afterwards. But people with halitosis are in a lifelong battle with mouth odor. Would it surprise you to learn that over 80 million people in America suffer from bad breath?

Looking on the internet for a cure is an over whelming search. You can find tons of advertisers listing products that are guaranteed to cure bad breath for good. There is everything from medications, devises and sprays. But is all of this needed? Does curing bad breath have to be as complicated as sending away for a produce. Or, is it a matter of educating your self with the right information in order to find the correct solution for you?

Page after page on the internet claim that the best way to cure bad breath is to increase your oral hygiene routine. For some people it is as easy as that. A person who suffers from bad breath might brush their teeth five times a day every day but if they are not doing more then that they are going to continue to loose this battle. Good oral hygiene is about implementing the right tools and the correct steps to get your mouth really clean. Haven’t you heard the expression that a dog’s mouth is cleaner then a human’s mouth? Didn’t believe it? Well, it’s true! Although dogs do not brush their teeth like humans do, the human mouth is more likely to carry different types of bacteria then a dog. You are more likely to get an infection from a human bite then a dog bite. Good oral hygiene involves brushing, flossing and cleaning of the gums, tongue and cheeks. Crevices in our mouths are prime real estate for bacteria. Once they have settled in, leftover particles of food do the job in feeding them. Would it turn your stomach to learn that the yellow stuff on your teeth know as plaque is the bacteria’s byproduct? Just getting the plaque off your teeth is not enough.

If you have changed your habits with oral hygiene and you are still suffering from halitosis, you need to see your dentist. The number three reason that people visit their dentist is to find out how to cure bad breath. Sometimes bad breath comes from having bad sinuses or from an infection or from complications of your digestive track. Your dentist will be able to help shed the light on what your problem is and how to fix it.

So before you shell out a ton of money on products that you are not sure will even work, go see someone who knows better. Get the right advice from the right person. See your dentist and learn the steps you can take to get on a road to be bad breath free for life. Curing bad breath does not have to be complicated; you only need to do you r part and work at it.

Bad breath in most people is due to the bacteria that are thriving within the mouth. But, there are a few other factors that can cause bad breath as well. Gum diseases and tooth decay might be the source for some people. Or even complications through the digestive tract or some types of throat infections might also be the cause of bad breath. People have been dealing with trying to cure bad breath for generations and through the years they have come up with a few home remedies that work really well.

Of course the most obvious home remedy to cure bad breath is to simply make sure that you clean your mouth after a meal. By not allowing food particles to settle into unforeseen caverns with in the mouth, you are stopping the cycle of bacteria with in the mouth. On the other hand, bad breath is sometimes cured by eating something else. Some people have found that chewing on mint leaves will freshen your breath. You can also chew on sunflower seeds after a meal and drink a glass of water with them. Have you ever wondered why many foods are served with parsley on top? It used to be that fresh parsley was served after a meal because eating the parsley cured the bad breath odors left over by the tasty meal. While eating fresh parsley will still cure bad breath, parsley has been moved form its own special plate, to the side of the main dish to on top of the main dish. Plus, mint leaves and parsley are not the only herbs that can help rid you of bad breath. Some people swear that by chewing on clove after a meal on a daily basis will help in your bad breath fight.

Plus, there are several other different types of food s you can try to win your battle with bad breath. You can squeeze a lemon into a glass and gargle it throughout the day. Or, you might want to try drinking a cup of hot unsweetened green tea to help rid your self of bad breath. You can also try drinking a cup of tea made from Fenugreek (methi) seeds. Some people have found that drinking pineapple juice will varnish the foul smell of ones mouth. Or, eating apples on a daily basis is also good for mouth purification because it removes the bacteria that cause bad breath. Also, chewing cardamom seeds will sweeten your breath with its aromatic flavor acting as a breath freshener.

There are also some non foods that will cure your bad breath problems. You have all heard the commercials that promote the use of baking soda in their toothpaste. Well, gargling with a mixture of baking soda and water will remove bacteria and help clean the tongue as well. Eating foods that are high in zinc helps to prevent bad breath because it keeps the bacteria within your mouth in check. You can also use hydrogen peroxide as a tongue cleaner to kill bacteria.

While there are plenty of home remedies that will cure your bad breath, nothing can substitute good oral hygiene. See your dentist if you need tips on what you are not doing right when it comes to your oral hygiene routine if you continue to suffer from bad breath.

Is it surprising to learn that 50% of Americans complain of bad breath problems? In fact, at least 50% or higher of people in most countries around the world say they suffer from bad breath. It is amazing to learn how many people deal with this problem that is generally not spoken about. So, what are we supposed to do? What are the cures of bad breath?

Most people are aware of the things that cause bad breath. It is the bacteria that live on the surfaces of the teeth, gums, tongue and cheeks that is actual the thing that causes bad breath. Once that knowledge is acknowledged, you have an easier time avoiding bad breath causes. One major step to cure bad breath is to minimize the food supply available to the bacteria that cause bad breath. The volatile sulfur compounds which cause bad breath are actually waste byproducts created by anaerobic oral bacteria when they digest proteins. It has been suggested that individuals that consume a mostly vegetarian diet composed mostly of fruits and vegetables, should have fewer bad breath problems then someone who has a diet that is high in protein rich food like meat. This does not mean that everyone who suffers from bad breath should switch to a vegetarian diet. The point is for people to remember to thoroughly clean their mouths after eating especially after eating foods that are high in protein content. After finishing a meal extremely small food particles remain in the mouth. They become lodged in places like in between teeth and on certain parts of the tongue. It is these precise locations that the anaerobic bacteria that cause bad breath live. So by not cleaning their mouths properly, a person is providing these bacteria with a constant food supply over an extended period of time.

Another cure for bad breath is baking soda. You have heard it before is toothpaste commercials right? There are certain brands of toothpaste that are made with baking soda. But, did you know that you can clean your mouth with the baking soda you buy from the store? Make a past of baking soda and water. You can mix it with natural toothpaste for taste then, use it in the removal of the coating on your tongue. You can also gargle a solution of baking soda and water. Baking soda is so useful in the fight against bad breath because it alters the ph in your mouth. It makes your mouth a less friendly environment for the growth of bacteria.

Drinking unsweetened brewed green tea several times a day may also help in the fight against bad breath. The polyphenols in tea, especially green tea, are extremely good at slowing the growth of bacteria. Plus, drinking the tea will help to keep our mouth moist discouraging bacteria from thriving in a dry environment. Plus, the unalloyed copper in the tea acts as a natural tongue scraper.

While there are a few home remedies or old wives tales that people have tried over the years to rid themselves of bad breath, these certain things work the best. Plus, they are easy to do, cheap, and easy to find.

There is nothing worse then talking in close proximity to a friend or co-worker and worrying that you might have bad breath. There are several different causes of bad breath.

One main reason that a person might have bad breath is because of the kind of food they eat. The breakdown of food particles in and around your mouth can cause an odor. Some foods contain volatile oils that might be another source of bad breath. Onions and garlic are prime examples of these kinds of foods. After these types of foods are digested the oils are absorbed into the body’s bloodstream. They are then carried to the lungs where they are then noticed through our breath until the food is eliminated from the body. Foods like garlic and onions can cause bad breath for up to 73 hours after you have eaten them.

Dental problems might also be the cause of some bad breath problems. If an individual does not brush and floss daily, food particles will remain on the teeth and in the mouth which then collects bacteria and emits hydrogen sulfide vapors. Dental hygiene is essential not only for curing bad breath but for the overall health of your mouth. Plaque can irritate the gums and is the main cause of gingivitis. Plus, it can cause tooth decay. Dentures that are not cleaned regularly or don’t fit property can also contain order-causing bacteria which causes bad breath.

Bad breath can also be caused by something as simple as having a dry mouth. The saliva in your mouth helps to cleanse and moisten your mouth. Having a dry mouth allows dead cell to gather on your cheeks, gums and tongue. The cells then decompose and cause an odor. Dry mouth is the thing that causes morning breath because your mouth naturally dries out during sleep.

Sinus infections have also been known to be the cause of bad breath. Discharge from your sinuses into the back of your throat can cause mouth odor. Likewise, throat infections, bronchitis and upper respiratory infections might cause bad breath. Infections we are helpless to avoid but sometimes it is what an individual is doing to their body that is the cause of their bad breath problem. Using tobacco products is one leading cause. Smoking fries out your mouth which causes odor and they are more likely to suffer from periodontal disease both sources of bad breath. Plus, sever dieting causes ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is the breakdown of chemicals during fasting and causes an unpleasant fruity smell.

Regardless of why a person has a bad breath problem, having bad breath is not only bothersome to the individual; it is bothersome to those around them. Once the reason behind why the bad breath is occurring is understood, that person can then take steps to change their habits. Changing habits might be as easy as carrying a tooth brush and tooth paste with them in order to brush after meals when not at home or carrying breath fresheners with you. If the problem points to something more severe like dental disease, a dentist must be contacted to resolve this serious problem.
